Aice Media Commercial

Down below is my Commercial. It was one of the projects that I did for Aice Media. It was the first one out of three. For that project, my partner and I had to make a one thirty-second video. We had to act in it but there was no talking. We also had to film and edit. One of our friends helped us by showing us how to use the tripod. My partner and I both had to act and film. Then we worked together on the editing part. We also had to come up with a storyboard.

I think that the storyboard was one sheet of paper. Since this was the first project my partner and I did not have any experience with filming. This made doing the project a little difficult. We also had not done acting before. This made that part of the project harder. We also did not film enough scenes the first time. This meant that we had to go back and add more scenes and refilm some of them to make them longer. But after the second time of filming,we could edit. Editing was not that hard as most of the scenes were long. This meant we did not have to do too much.

Aice Media Music Video

Down below is my Music Video. It was one of the projects that I did for Aice Media. It was the second one out of three. For that project, my partner and I had to make a one minute video. We did not have to sing but we had to act in the video. We also had to film and edit. One of our friends helped us by being an actor. My partner and I both had to act and film. Then we worked together on the editing part. We also had to come up with a storyboard.

I think that the storyboard was two sheets of paper. Since this was the second project my partner and I already had some experience with filming. This made doing the project much easier. We also had done acting before. This made that part of the project easier. We also did not film enough scenes the first time. Audience and Institution Practice Essay

Kol Bennett
Audiences and Institution Essay
My Question: In relation to the media area you have studied, discuss the way audience consumption has changed over time.

Kol Bennett
Audiences and Institution Essay

The way people and audiences have consumed media has changed over time. Consumption of movies, music, and print has also changed but this essay will cover video games. Video games have been around for years and the way people play them has changed drastically over time. As Jeff Desjardins makes clear in his article The History and Evolution of the Video Games Market, video games have gotten much better since the first video game, Spacewar! in 1962. The more current video games have gained complexity, sophistication, and quality.
The first video games were large cartridges on small televisions and screens. The controllers only had one button and had to be connected to the console. It was like that for years and those games were very pixelated. However, televisions became more advanced and so did the games. There was the Gameboy which came out in 1989 and it was a handheld console made by Nintendo. It changed the way people played and viewed video games. It was still in black and white, but the control buttons were on the physical device so there was no remote needed. Then came the Gameboy color which allowed people to play the games they loved but in color. After that, there was the Gameboy Advanced which had a wider screen and smaller cartridges and kept the color. However, the Wii, which was also made by Nintendo was one of the first consoles with wireless controllers. That console also used discs for its games instead of cartridges.
More recent changes in gaming include the Wii U, Nintendo DS, and 3DS, the Nintendo Switch, Xbox, PlayStation, and even specialized computers. These recent consoles and game devices are the most popular. They have better graphics and run much smoother. Most of them use discs but the DS series and the Switch still use cartridges, but these are small.
The Xbox and the PlayStation has become so popular that multiple versions of the console have been released over the years. The latest version of the Xbox is the Xbox 1X and the latest PlayStation is the PlayStation 4. As each new console was released, they had new features and one of the biggest things with this technology is being able to play online with other people and play with your friends. Consoles have become very popular with gamers. In fact, according to the series The evolution of video gaming and content consumption people who identify themselves as heavy gamers say they use consoles 45% of the time compared to computers at 47%.
There are also computers and monitors specifically made for gaming. In the Executive Summary of The evolution of video gaming and content consumption, “…gamers now spend more time playing games than streaming movies or television shows to their computer…”  There is now even cross-promotion in video games between Xbox and Spotify. You can download Spotify on your Xbox and play your music from there.

Overall, the way people consume media through video games has changed over many years. Kevin Webb of Business Insider stated it well when he said “Gaming is… transforming pop culture and redefining the ways that young people consume entertainment.” Consumption of media is probably going to grow and change even more in the future. Just how far video games have come is impressive and it is going to keep growing.

Practice Extract Essay

Practice Extract Essay
Kol Bennett

The author's vision for that part of the movie was intense. The whole extract felt tense and serious. The author did a good job of doing that because all the characters were very serious during the scenes.
The first scene starts off with dialogue between the interrogator and the woman. There is a zoom on the clock and the camera to show the viewer that there are other people watching and that time was very important. With all these factors the scene becomes very intense and serious. After some dialogue, the camera cuts to other people watching the interrogation then cuts back after.
In the second scene, there is a bit more. The viewer can tell that the interrogator is more serious, and you can tell because there is a close-up shot on him, and you can very clearly see his emotions. Also, he flips the table out of anger but the woman still remains calm. But a little after flipping the table she charges at the woman who is in her chair and pushes her against the wall and starts choking her and then other people must come into the room and stop him.
The director's vision must be intensity all the way because that is what the whole scene is. Everyone is serious and it just feels so tense and there is no happiness whatsoever. It is just pure seriousness.

Final Task CCR

This is my CCR for my final task. It is a twelve-minute long video. It goes over the four CCR questions. I am answering the four questions that there are. I go over things like conventions and real media texts. I also go over how I used technology and how my production skills have improved. Along with that, I also just go over stuff I did during the project. I also go back and reference previous projects and talk about how it has affected me. I will talk about how the stuff I learned in those projects helped me this time. But this project was definitely the most work out of all of them.

This project was our last filming project. But with the CCR I had to edit that a bit before I put it onto my blog. I had to make sure that I talked long enough during each question. This is because the CCR had to be at least twelve minutes. But I did a fine job of talking about each topic as much as possible. But there were some of the questions that I talked about more than others. This is because there was just more to talk about some of them. The one asking about how I integrated technology I definitely talked about the most. It was just so easy to talk about because there was so much to talk about. Also, some of them there was just a short answer and that was it so I would have to drag the question and the answer on longer than it really needed to be. But overall the CCR went good.

Final Task Movie

Below is my final task which is a movie. It is the final recording project that we have this year. It is about two minutes long. It was our third filming project of the year. The two previous ones which were a commercial and a music video helped prepare us for this movie. This project was definitely a lot more work than the other two projects. But because we had more experience with this project. This project helped my production skills improve by a lot. It was also a good experience. But the movie went good overall during production.

Final Exam Re-edit

If we refilmed anything for our movie my partner and I would have to re-edit. But we did not reshoot any scenes from our movie. But if we had, since we cannot meet up. We probably would have just worked on it over a video chat. But corona has made it so that no one can meet up. No one can even leave their house. This is probably affecting other groups badly. Thankfully we had already finished our movie before corona. But the virus has affected everyone and all of my classes. But it has not affected this one that much.

But corona has made it hard to do anything. But the CCR is individual. This means that I do not have to worry about meeting up with my partner because we can do this from our own houses. But this virus has changed a lot of things. It is making it harder for people to do their work and do what they need to do. Even though corona makes it harder to do things, it is still important to stay home. But for the rest of the project, I can do whatever I need to from home. Even if we could go out I probably would not need to. For this project at least. But my partner and I have nothing to re-edit.

Final Exam Reshoot

There was not much for us to reshoot if anything. But if we were to find something my partner and I could not refilm. This is because of the corona. We cannot really go anywhere. But I do not think that there is anything that we will need to refilm. Thankfully we got every scene right on the first try. It would have been bad if we didn't. This is because we would not be able to do and reshoots anymore. Since we don't have any reshoots, we probably won't have to reedit anything. But that is a lot less work for us.

Not having to do re-edits or reshoots saves us a lot of time. This means we can spend a lot of time and really focus on our CCR. This will probably benefit our grades. This is because we don't have to worry about reshoots and make sure our CCR is good. Another reason we are not doing reshoots is that we feel confident in our movie. There are only a couple scenes we thought about reshooting. But we did not think that we needed to. After thinking about it we thought they were fine the way they were and that we did not need to redo them or reshoot them. But even if we did redo those couple scenes we don't think that it would make a difference. But we definitely saved a lot of time with not reshooting.

Final Task (Corona)

It has been hard to work on my project. This is because of coronavirus. We do not go back to school until April 15th at the earliest. This would stop me from filming our movie. My partner and I cannot meet up to film if needed. Thankfully if we need to edit we can call each other to work on that. This might also negatively affect other groups. We are still able to film our CCR. We can do that individually. The CCR for this project has to be a movie.

The virus limits what my partner and I can do. But the CCR is individual so that is why we will still be able to do that. We are hoping that this will not negatively impact our project. We do not think it will. But this virus certainly came at a bad time. We have got most of our project done anyway. We should be ok. Thankfully the coronavirus did not get in our way. We are going to be able to finish up what we need to. Even without meeting up.

Filming Blog 3 Final Exam

All of our filming is done. We filmed all of our scenes. It took a few hours to do all of them. When we filmed the scenes we followed the storyboard. This really helped us and made the whole filming process easier. We had 10 storyboard sheets. We had to fill all of them up and then film all them. It took a while to fill in all of the storyboard sheets. This is because we had to come up with pictures for each scene. But having the storyboard made filming the movie much easier.

The camera was not charged when we had to film. Instead we used Julia's phone to film. This did not make a difference in how the movie turned out. We also edited on our phones. We didn't use the tripod either because we used the phone. The phone didn't fit in the tripod. Julia did most of the filming. I did a little bit of the filming. She did not have that many scenes in the movie. She ended up directing most of the movie.

Editing Blog 2 Final Exam

I finished editing. My partner and I added the titles. There were about seven titles. It was not that hard to add them. It was just what titles needed to go where. Then we had to pick a font. This is because we could not use the one that we had planned to use. Then we also had to pick the color. Then we had to pick how big they would be and where on the screen they would be. We had to do this for all of the titles.

Now my partner and I need to go over the movie and see if anything needs to be fixed. Whether it's the titles. It a scene that needs some editing. There might be a scene that we need to reshoot. But everything might be ok and nothing will need to be fixed. But the titles might not look good or be readable. If that is the case we might need to fix the color so it stands out more, or we might need to fix how big it is. Then if we make a change to one of them we might have to fix all of them so they look the same. But we are hoping that they are good. This would make our life so much easier.

Peer Review

This past class my partner and I had to do peer review. We had to peer review, someone. Then another person had to peer review us. As we peer-reviewed the other person we had to fill out a paper. It asked things like did it tell a story or about certain camera angles. We also had to put at what time each shot and angle was. Then someone else had to do the same for my movie. The person who we peer-reviewed did a pretty good job. They had all the titles. They also had lots of camera shots.

Someone had to fill out the same paper for my movie. We were able to go over the paper and see what else we needed. This really helps if we need to do reshoots. If we do reshoot, we will also need to re-edit. But it also showed us the things that we already have. Which is also helpful. We also need to add titles to our movie. But that should not be too hard to do. There are also a couple more things that we need to add. But they are easy to add.

Editing Blog Final Exam

My partner and I started editing our movie this week. We didn't edit a lot but we did do the first couple scenes. We are planning to edit some more tomorrow. Then with whatever we edit we will have to put on a flash drive. This is so next week when we do peer review, there will be something for that person to review. Hopefully, we can get a lot done tomorrow. This will really help later on when we have to do reshoots. It will help by showing us what scenes we need to redo. Then we will need to edit those scenes again. But that should not be too hard.

When we started editing we had only imported a few scenes onto pinnacle studios. We tried doing this so that there would be less lag while we were editing. This would make the editing process easier. We are hoping to finish up most of the editing tomorrow during class. This will help us in the long run with the project. Since we have used pinnacle studios before, we know how to use it. This will help us when we edit. But we also have to insert titles but we haven't done that before. So hopefully that does not give us to much trouble. But other than that we should have no problem.

Filming Blog 2 Final Exam

This is our second filming blog. We have not filmed since two weekends ago. This is the second blog for the fourth quarter. Since we didn't film, we have to write about not filming. We are planning to film again. That would be for the re-shoots. That would be us re-filming some scenes that are not good or if we to add more time to the movie. We are not sure how many of the scenes we might need to redo. Hopefully it is not that much that we need to film again. But however much it is it should be easy.

After this blog I will have ten more blogs left. One about filming and three about editing. Then there are some other ones. But those are about other things. But we do not have much more filming to do. We won't do anymore filming until after the peer review. Which is next week. We need to have some sort of footage for people to review. But we have to put the footage on a drive. Then give it to the person.

Filming Blog Final Exam

My partner and I started filming our movie this weekend. We finished filming all of the scenes. We are probably going to be doing reshoots. The filming went good overall. My partner did most of the filming. I did most of the acting but I did some filming. My partner also did some acting. After this blog, we have 11 more to do. We did not follow the storyboard exactly. We made some changes because of the circumstances.

We didn't leave anything out we just changed how some stuff went. For example, the first scene is something that we changed. It is still the same overall concept. We are going to go over the footage and delete the bad footage. This will make it easier for us to edit. It took us a couple hours to film the scenes. But reshoots should go much faster. We already know what we want to do and what we need to fix. Then after reshoots, we will need to re-edit. But there probably won't be much to edit after reshoots.

Planning Blog-Storyboard

The final planning blog is the storyboard. The storyboard is a plan for how our movie is going to look. It has all the titles and where we are going to be acting. It also has where the titles will be entering. The storyboard is ten pages. The movie has to be at least two minutes so that why there is at least ten pages. We have to put the storyboard into a google slides. Each slide is one page on the storyboard. We are going to try to follow the storyboard. That will make it much easier when we film.

Planning-Title Design

This is the fourth planning blog. We figured out how we are going to do the titles. We went over how and when they come in. We are using a font called Lobster. We will be using the font in size thirty. It is a good size for what we want to do with it in our movie. The next planning blog will be our storyboard. But that should be easy because we have already finished that. The storyboard also helped us figure out how we want to use our titles. This is also one of the final planning blogs.

Planning Part 2

This is another planning blog for our movie. The presentation above talks about health. We explained all the steps and precautions we will follow in order to ensure our safety. This blog also includes filming locations. The location is Julia's house. This presentation also includes the schedule. This gives us time to plan out our movie and keep track of what we have done. We also go over who is going to be in our movie. It also says what they will be doing. This is the overall plan for our movie and filming.

Sound Script

Up above is our sound script. This is also a planning blog like the shooting script. This has our sound and dialogue in it. Unlike the shooting script,we have speech in this one. This includes different sounds like ambient or non-diegetic sounds for example. But in this presentation, there are multiple scenes in one slide. This probably fits the more standard script you would think to normally see. This presentation is also shorter than the other one. It goes over who says what and when they say it. Also, some of the scenes have no dialogue.

Shooting Script

Up above is my me and my partner's shooting script. After a lot of research, we finally started working on the final exam. In this blog, we are planning the movie. The shooting script is our movie script without the dialogue. This is the action and what is going on in each scene. It is basically a written storyboard. The actual storyboard blog is going to be soon. There are 10 different scenes in our film. There are eight titles as well. Those are also mentioned in the presentation.

Title Research: Comedy (Zombieland)

The last movie was Zombieland and I watched it on Art of the Titles. There were 15 titles in the opening sequence. Zombies were definitely the priority in the movie. They were in most of the shots and scenes. There was also a lot of people running from zombies and people being attacked by zombies. The images give the watcher a sense of horror with the zombies eating the people and the people running from the zombies. The zombies and the whole situation isn't made to seem that serious which makes it kind of funny. But people running and trying to escape the zombies gives it that adventurous and action-packed genre. There is also a lot of action when humans come up with new ways to survive. The opening sequence raises some obvious questions. For example why are there zombies and how did it come about? Who and where was the first zombie? How fast did it spread? All of these are mysteries which will most likely be answered throughout the movie. Some people are into watching other people die in movies or really like zombies so this movie really appeals to those types of audiences and will draw those people in. All of the equipment used to film the movie helps the success of the movie because that filmed the movie people are watching. Then whatever devices were used to edit. There was a lot of slow-motion in the opening sequence. There were a lot of long shots as well as inserts.

Title Research: Comedy (Deadpool)

The third movie is Deadpool and we watched it on Art of the Titles. There were about 13 titles in the movie. But the titles were funny and comedic but that goes with the movie. For example one of them was "this movie was produced by *ashats." This goes with the overall theme of the movie. In the opening sequence, there are a lot of dead people. It is showing that Deadpool probably killed those people because there is also a car crash and the only person who is not dead is Deadpool. This is probably telling us as well that Deadpool and whoever those people where do not like each other and are enemies. The images show that the movie will have a lot of fighting and action. It will also show the Deadpool will often be outnumbered. The titles are comedic which works with the genre because the genre is comedy. Also, a few images shown in the opening sequence were funny as well. Then the dead people and people being killed and the car crash went with the action. Also, the car was on fire as well which went with action. The opening sequence establishes some mystery with the whole thing. First of all, who is the person under the mask and why is he wearing a superhero suit. Who were those people chasing him and what do they want? Why is he being chased? These are all questions and mysteries raised by the opening sequence. It makes the watcher curious and wants to watch the rest of the movie. All of the gear to film the movie and edit are being used to the movie's success. These things take a lot of effort but help the movie. The camera sort of moves backward starting from the first dead goon or whatever you call it to the car and then Deadpool.

Title Research: Comedy (21 Jumpstreet)

The second movie my partner and I did was 21 Jumpstreet and we watched it on Art of the Titles. The opening sequence has 21 titles. I am not sure if they did that on purpose because it's "21" Jumpstreet, or it was just a coincidence. The opening sequence is full of different pictures and images. But three are mainly shown. Those are money, drugs, and explosions. This is showing the watcher what to expect from the movie and what it will be about. Then also there are some scenes with guns and that is another indicator of what is to come from the movie. The images show that the movie besides drugs and that stuff will be action-packed with more than just drugs, money, and the stuff I listed. The opening sequence is a whole montage of pictures. Those pictures show whoever is watching that it will have a lot of action. But it also shows that the movie will be funny, this is because there are funny moments in the montage along with the action. The opening sequence also shows that there will be more than just drugs and stuff and those scenes won't be as action-packed as the rest of the movie. The montage or opening sequence brings some mystery in the sense of you see all the action and comedy and stuff, but you as the watcher also wonder how they got into those situations and what events led up to that. It also makes you wonder if they get out of those situations that you see at the beginning. As the watcher, you also get curious about what they are doing in the situations shown and what they mean and contribute to the overall story. They show a lot of different things which makes you want to watch the rest of the movie. All the action also shows you that there will be a lot of action and makes the watcher want to watch it and see what happens in the end and all the stuff that happens in between that got them into that situation. The technology used to film the opening sequence and to edit and all the sound is very important to the overall movie. Also, the movie makers added all of the titles to the movie which is also another very important part of the movie. There were a lot of mid shots and long shots. Also, the camera was often at eye level and they showed a lot of inanimate objects and used the camera to rotate and see the object on all sides.

Title Research: Comedy(Back to the Future)

The first movie opening sequence we watched was Back to the Future. We watched on Art of the Title. The opening sequence had 16 titles. There is some action with the character turning on the machine and the watcher not knowing what it is going to be used for. There were a lot of clocks and different types of machines in the opening sequence. There was also the lady on the news talking about stolen plutonium and how it was false then later shows the plutonium under the character's bed and focuses on it and has the camera stay on it for a few seconds. The clocks add a sense of mystery and definitely go with the title "Back to the Future." The emphasis on the clocks also shows that time will probably be extremely important throughout the movie. The machines and clocks go with the action but the explosion at the end goes with the action and adds an element of comedy. How the camera focuses on all of the clocks makes the watcher interested and curious why they are all there and what they are being used for. Also with the stolen plutonium, the watcher has to guess what it is going to be used for and when the character is setting up the machine by flipping up all the switches it is curious and mysterious to the watcher. The mystery keeps the watcher want to see what happens next and the explosion adds some action to keep it from being boring and just one big mystery. There is also something about a mansion blowing up and that also makes the watcher curious. The technology was used effectively in the editing and the filming. There were close-ups and the whole thing was basically one big pan shot. There were jump cuts between the room with all of the clocks. The camera would also focus on the important things.

Watch the Title

My partner and I are researching titles for the final draft. We went on another website this time. It is called Watch the Titles. Like before, we are researching titles for our final projects. This is because we have to add titles to our opening sequence. We are on there to learn about titles. Also, how the titles and opening sequences work together. This is very important. This is because it is a big part of our grade. We need to put what we learned in our project. Depending on what our movie is that will determine how the title is. We watched a bunch of opening sequences. This is to get a sense of how the titles work. Hopefully this will help with our project. Then we need to watch some more to learn some more.

Art of the Title

We are researching titles for our final task. The first website that we went to was Art of the Title. They have a lot of titles and opening sequences from movies and shows. But we are focusing just on movies. We are researching titles because that is a very important part of the opening sequence. It is going to be important that we learn about titles. It will be an important part of our grade. It is going with out movie and genre. We will need to learn how to make it go with our genre. Which is comedy. My partner and I watched some to get an understanding of them. That will help us with the opening sequence. Then we need to apply what we saw into the final task. It will be important that the titles go with our opening sequence. There is also another website we are also going to look at.

Genre Research: Ride Along 2

4th Movie-Ride a Long 2

The last movie is also a comedy. Just like the other three movies. I have to go over the conventions in the movie. Like before some of the conventions are the same as the other movies. Some of them are different. I'll be going over what is normally found in this movie. There are different editing techniques. The different camera angles and shots. Lots of dialogue. This is between many main characters and antagonists.

There were a lot of camera movements. There was also a lot of camera shots. There were low angles. There was also high angles and gods eye view. There were pans and tracking shots. There were mid shots and long shots. There were wide shots as well. There were also a couple action matches. There was also some slow motion. Eye-line matches happened often in this movie.

There were a lot of diegetic sounds. There was also a lot of non-diegetic sound in the movie. Ambient sound was also in the movie. There were a lot of jump cuts in the movie. But there were a lot of those in the other three movies. Zoom shots were in the movie. There were also shots where they zoomed out. There were a lot of establishing shots. This is because the movie was taken place in big cities. They were Miami and Atlanta.

Genre Research: Isn't it Romantic

Again like the first movie. As well as the second movie. I did a comedy. Again I have to go over the conventions of the movie. Like before there are some similar conventions. Then there are some different conventions. The editing and stuff like that are partly similar. Same with the camera angles. Also, the camera movements are partially similar and different. But this is my third time doing this so it should be easy.

There was a lot of dialogue. Just like the other two movies. The main character is always in the dialogue. There really wasn't a conversation the main character was not apart of. There was a lot of natural lighting. There was also a lot of artificial lighting. The lighting was mostly soft. There were some establishing shots. Again, just like the other two movies. Those were mostly at the beginning though.

For angles, there were a lot of high angles. There were also eye-level angles. There were a lot of mid shots. There were also a lot of long shots as well. Shot reverse shots were also in this. There weren't too many but there were some. Then there were jump cuts. Just like the other two. Pan shots were common in this movie. Tracking shots were also pretty common.

Genre Research: Long Shot

2nd Movie-Long Shot

The second movie I did was Long Shot. Like the first one, this is also a comedy. There are some of the same conventions as the first movie. Some same shots and angles. Some same editing and sound. The first 30 minutes of the movie were good. Just like the last one. In the movie, there were a good amount of conventions. There was a lot of dialogue. In the movie, people are always talking.

There was not really a moment in the movie where people weren't talking to each other. There were some voice overs. That was really the only part there wasn't dialogue. There was also a lot of diegetic sounds. There wasn't that much non-diegetic sound. If there were any non-diegetic sound. There were jump cuts and shot-reverse shots. There were more jump cuts. But there were some shot-reverse shots.

There were tracking shots. There were also pans. Just like the first movie, there were a bunch of these. There were also some overhead shots. But not as many of those. There were some eye-level shots. Some low shots were also in the movie as well. Those were actually pretty frequent. There was a flashback in the movie. At the same time as the flashback, there was a fade-in. There weren't as many of those as other things.

The first movie I watched was the Secret Life of Pets 2. It is a comedy. Which is why I watched it because the genre for my final task is comedy. I have to go over the conventions of the movie. Which involves editing and stuff like that. I would also include things I normally find in the movie. There were a lot of different things. There was a lot of dialogue. But there wasn't that much between humans. There was a lot of dialogue between animals.

However, there was more interaction between humans and animals than humans and humans. The humans in the movie don't talk much in general. They probably talk to animals more than other humans. There were a lot of jump cuts in the movie. There were also some eye-line matches. There were some pan shots. There were also tracking shots. There was a good amount of both of those in the movie. Most of the tracking and pan shots were at the beginning of the movie. There were also a couple cutaways.

There were some voiceovers throughout the movie. This was with the main character mostly. There is also a lot of non-diegetic sounds. This is throughout the whole movie just not at any certain point. There also is not that much diegetic sound in the movie. But there is just a lot of background music but it goes with the movie. There is a lot of low shots as well with everything else. There are also low angles frequently in the movie. These were in the movie during the whole movie. Then there were a few establishing shots at the beginning.

Research Blog:Our Genre (Comedy)

My partner decided on a genre. That genre is comedy. We decided on comedy because we like it better than in other genres. We also have some general knowledge of the genre. We thought that it would be easy. There is also a lot we can do with it. We can be very creative with it. That is one of the things we like about it. Then there is the comedic aspect we like. These are the main reasons we like it.

Genre Research: Horror & Romance

1st Genre:Horror

Costumes-Lots of masks like Freddy Cougar and there is a lot of costumes in general.

2nd Genre:Romance

Lighting-High Pitched, soft lighting, warm colors.
Acting-Famous actors are Julia Roberts, Nicholas Sparks, and Richard Curtis.

Genre Research:Comedy

For this project, my partner and I randomly got assigned a genre. Then we had to make a PowerPoint on that genre. Our genre was comedy. In the PowerPoint, we went over different things in comedy. We went over lighting, camera angles, and sound. Then we went over what we like and don't like. It was fun making. We both did research. We both also did some of the PowerPoint. We also designed the PowerPoint together.

Picking the Pitch

My partner and I have to cut our three pitches to two. It wasn't too hard to decide which one to get rid of. We decided to get rid of our first pitch. That pitch was about a stalker. We got rid of it because we like our other two pitches better. We also thought that they were easier. The idea of a stalker just did not appeal to us like our other two pitches. Our other two were about a robbery and the other was about a romance. These two are going to be easier. We also like the other two ideas better.

Pitch 1: A very wealthy family hires a new house cleaner. She ends up stealing all the family fortune but will she get caught or not?

This is the first pitch that we have narrowed it down to. We have narrowed it down to this one because it is easy. But we also like the idea of a robbery. I like how it has action but also a suspenseful tone to it. But I don't like it because it is a little simple. We could be a bit more creative. But overall we like the whole idea and are excited to do it. That is if we choose it. We also have to go over the other one. Then decide between the two.

Pitch 2: Two best friends since birth but one of them has a secret crush, will she confess her feelings. Or will she keep it a secret?

This is the other pitch that my partner and I are thinking about. We like the idea of a romance. It is a simple concept. That is one problem with it. But we like it and don't think that many other people would be doing it. Also,it would be easy for us since we probably won't need any props. If any at all. Then there is a lot of different ways we could do it. This is because romance is so broad. This would give us a lot of options.

We decided to go with the first pitch. That was the robbery one. We decided to go with this because we just like the concept better. Then we also like the simplicity of it. But there are so many options and routes that we can choose with this. It is also an easy concept to come up with. Then we can choose how we want to make the movie. But there are so many options that we can go with. I think that it will be fun and I am excited to be creative with it. This is why we decided to go with the first pitch.

Starting the Final Task

Hello, my name is Kol. I've already gone over this but I have to re-introduce myself. I have started my final task for Aice Media and this is the first assignment. For my final task, I have to make a two-minute intro to an original movie. But since I have to re-introduce myself I guess I should actually talk about myself. I am a high school student. I like sports, video games, and reading. I decided to take Aice Media because I thought it would be a good experience. My partner's name is Julia. We have done multiple projects for this class together.

For this project, I think that it will be a little difficult. This is because it has to be two minutes. But the filming part shouldn't be too hard. The editing part shouldn't be too hard either. This is because both my partner and I have some experience with it. I would rather film than act. This is because I think that I am better at filming than acting. But if I need to I will act. But I don't think that my partner or I want to act. But we both probably will end up doing both.

Pitch 1: There's a new neighbor and he sees the girl next door; they become friends overnight, the boy becomes overly attached and follows her every move.

Pitch 2: A very wealthy family hires a new house cleaner. She ends up stealing all the family fortune but will she get caught or not?

Pitch 3: Two best friends since birth but one of the has a secret crush, will she confess her feelings. Or will she keep it a secret?
